Clean Job Trailers – Everyone’s Responsibility
The job site trailer is more than just a break area, it’s our shared workspace, meeting spot, and sometimes even our lunchroom. Keeping it clean and organized isn’t just about appearances; it’s about safety, health, and respect for each other.
Why It Matters
- Sanitation: Leftover food and trash attract pests like mice, flies, and ants, which can carry disease and damage equipment or paperwork (we’ve lost multiple printers this year alone).
- Odor & Air Quality: Old food, dirty dishes, and overflowing trash cans quickly make the trailer smell bad and unpleasant for everyone.
- Professionalism: A clean, organized trailer reflects the pride we take in our work and leaves a good impression on visitors, inspectors, and clients.
- Safety: Spilled drinks, cluttered walkways, or tools left out can cause slips, trips, or cuts.
Expectations
- Clean Up After Yourself: If you cook or eat in the trailer, clean your dishes, wipe down counters, and throw away trash immediately.
- Trash Disposal: Empty garbage cans at the end of the day, don’t let food waste sit overnight.
- Food Storage: Store any leftovers in sealed containers and label them, or better yet, take them home.
- Fridge Rules: Keep the refrigerator organized. Throw out old food at the end of the week.
- Microwave & Coffee Pot: Wipe up spills and messes after each use.
- Tool Organization:
o Always put tools back where they belong after use.
o Keep tools and materials out of walkways and off tables where people eat or hold meetings.
o If you notice tools missing or out of place, take a minute to return them to the correct location, it saves time later and prevents damage or loss.
Crew Reminder
Everyone uses the trailer, so everyone helps keep it clean and organized. Don’t leave it for “someone else” to take care of. Treat it like your own workspace and take pride in keeping it safe, neat, and professional.
